A word from the product manager

"We designed this boot to offer you a good compromise between comfort and easy tightening.
New improvements for 2017-2018 include:
- quick tightening focused on the instep for better support and a riptab added at the shins to eliminate the gap between the shins and the tongue;
- wider fit to ensure good support and comfort for all;
- very lightweight, shock absorbent and insulating EVA sole (80% air) that protects from cold ground.".

Fast Lock 2-zone tightening system

The boot's easy tightening system was created following a comment made by one of our instructors: "we need to do away with traditional laces that have to be tied,
I waste too much time at the beginning of my lessons tightening my clients' laces"
1. Quick and powerful tightening focused on the instep, to improve foot support.
2. Rip-tab on the shin to eliminate play between shin and tongue.

Boot flex/stiffness

The introduction of the soft flex was a deliberate decision. It is comfortable to use, reduces physical fatigue and allows you to fully enjoy your day on the snow. It also offers the advantage of helping beginners adopt a good position on their board: ankles are flexed to avoid stiff legs. You have to react quickly when you're snowboarding, so you need to have bend in your knees. Starting with a boot that's too stiff will hinder your progress.

Heel support: level 1 liner

Foot support is essential when snowboarding in order to correctly steer the board.
The level 1 liner applies 5 concepts:
1. boots thermoformable at home 2. ""Comfort Heel Pad"" ankle bone foam
3. 3-point liner tightening 4.""Hook & Loop Link"" link between liner and shoe
5. Double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep: support and comfort.

1. Autonomous liner thermoforming

1. Preheat your oven to 80°C. Remove the liner insoles, place the liner on the oven hob with baking paper 3. Wait 15 mins
4. Put the sock liners back and then, with a pair of ski/snowboard socks, put the liners on your feet and tighten them as much as you want.
5. Try on the snowboard boots and tighten firmly 5. Wait 15 minutes, without moving This operation can be repeated.

2. Comfort Heel Pad ankle foam

The ankle foam padding fills the hollow below and behind the ankle in order to secure the heel.
The level 1 liner has 10-mm thick single-material ankle foam that is quite soft.
The aim is to provide the right heel/foot support for the type of boot. Because the faster you go, the greater the energy involved, and the more foot support you need.
The Comfort Foam padding fulfils this objective by providing optimum comfort for everyone.

3. 3-point liner fastening

3-point fastening (instead of 4-point) offers 2 big advantages:
- support: it blocks the heel very effectively because there is less friction with the laces and a maximum amount of energy is transferred to the 3rd and final tightening point, situated at the ankle, thereby providing optimum support: given that there is no 4th tightening point at the instep, the blood flows more easily to the toes. This keeps your toes warm.".

4. Hook & Loop Link between the liner and boot

We've added a rip-tab between the liner and the boot, at the back.
The aim? To help prevent the liner from slipping inside the boot, so it's easier to steer the board: if the liner moves in the boot, control will be made more difficult on the board.

5. Double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep, for support and comfort

We have added a 2nd thickness of foam on the tongue, at the instep, for the following 2 reasons:
- to secure the foot more firmly in place at the bottom of the liner
- to enhance comfort by preventing the lace from cutting off the blood flow in this high-tension area.

Insole

The boot insole is smooth. It provides comfort and thermal insulation.
To heighten the association between foot and liner, if you feel it necessary, you have 2 options:
- get a pre-shaped sole which fits the arch of the foot and heel- get a sole which is thermoformed to your foot. The most effective solution.

Sole: grip, foothold, cushioning and thermal insulation

Our new Ultralight sole is 100% EVA.
EVA is a very light material (80% air). This composition is designed to resist abrasion without compromising its cushioning properties. It has natural insulating properties and protects from the cold coming up from the ground.
We have added big lugs for excellent grip. They are spaced quite far apart to prevent snow from getting stuck.

  • At the end of the day, remove the liner from the upper to improve ventilation and dry quickly. Also, remove the inner sole of the liner to dry fully overnight.
